Biography of Spurious

Spurious started his musical career in 2015 with the number #1 position worldwide on Beatport for his solo album “Spurious – Forever”. However, the real start was years before that date.

Spurious who’s real name is John literally grew up with music, at the age of 10 he was already sharing his favourite music with others. During his youth John got  influenced by the music of a lot of artists: Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Dune, The Prodigy and Chicane. John started producing and mixing music around 1998 and had his first release in 2007 (cd, vinyl).

In 2016 John took redundancy from his day job and switched the safety of a permanent contract for the uncertainty of the artists life. Since then multiple singles came out on different labels and appeared on many compilations. One of the highlights so far was the opportunity to remix ‘Don’t Let Me Down’ from Hardage and Maxi Priest which has been released on the 7th of December 2017. In the end of 2016 John also started his two weekly podcast ‘Chill Out Now’ which is available for free on multiple platforms like Tunein and iTunes.
